ACBVI Hits the Road at Tour de Scottsdale
With every mile at the Tour de Scottsdale, ACBVI riders proved that vision loss is no barrier to achievement when community and determination come together.

The ACBVI Adventure Program takes individuals who are blind or visually impaired (BVI), DeafBlind (DB), or living with Combined Vision and Hearing Loss (CVHL) to unforgettable experiences throughout Arizona. At the heart of every adventure is a simple but powerful concept: each participant is paired one-on-one with a trained volunteer.
This one-to-one partnership allows participants to experience new places and activities with the individualized support they need while fostering meaningful friendships and connections. Volunteers serve as sighted guides, companions, and teammates throughout the day, helping create an environment where participants feel confident, included, and empowered to explore.
WWhile every adventure is fun, the program is about much more than recreation. These shared experiences help participants build confidence, practice communication and orientation skills in real-world settings, reduce social isolation, and strengthen their independence. Volunteers leave with a deeper understanding of sensory loss while forming relationships that often extend well beyond a single event.
