Assistive Technology Specialist
Richard Vanover, a native of Arizona born in Tucson, came to ACBVI in June 2017 as an Assistive Technology Specialist. He has worked in the field of Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, and Low Vision since 2007. He has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Gallaudet University and a master’s degree in Information Technology from Capella University. Richard works primarily with clients who have Combined Hearing and Vision Loss (CVHL). He is also an experienced Support Services Provider. In the fall of 2018, Richard plans to go back to school to get a dual degree in Orientation & Mobility and Rehabilitation Teaching. One of Richard’s favorite pastime is football (better known as soccer). He enjoys watching the local professional team, the Phoenix Rising. His favorite quote is: “Going in one more round when you don’t think you can. That’s what makes all the difference in your life.”
